If you give a Decorator a Hot Chocolate Sign…

My adorable friend Adriann (@cre8tive_instincts on Instagram) sent me some happy mail -chalk full-of Christmas goodies to jumpstart my holiday decorating and boy did I have some fun.  Thought I’d sum it up with a little spoof on a favorite children’s book of mine, “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie” because well, it’s pretty much exactly how things went around here…

If you give a decorator a hot chocolate sign, she’s going to want to hang it on the wall.  She’ll probably want to make some room on the wall so she’ll ask you to list her bulky hutch on Craigslist.  She’ll want to put the pretty dishes somewhere that used to be in the hutch so….she’ll probably ask you to build her some new open shelves. When she’s done staging the shelves she’ll hang the sign on the wall.  When the sign is hung, she’ll probably want to make sure the sign isn’t all by itself so… she’ll ask you to bring in a table from outside.  When the table is set,  she’ll probably want to put some things on it so, she’ll probably go online and buy a few goodies to make it pretty. When she sets up the goodies, She’ll get so excited, she’ll want to take some pictures.  And chances are, she’ll want to blog about it too.

Thank you Adriann, for inspiring this new little piece of our home:  IMG_2615 IMG_2612 IMG_2610 IMG_2594 IMG_2592 IMG_2587 IMG_2585 IMG_2629 IMG_2628     IMG_2617

  1. I love your little children’s story re-write! If You Give A Mouse A Cookie has been one of Peter’s top story choices lately so I know that book well, and you did a great job! And I bet the kiddos don’t mind the new hot cocoa station either! Love it Kate 🙂
