Another Treasure

Once upon a fall day, I went for a stroll around the block and stumbled upon this gorgeous old piece perched by the side of the road. Perhaps it’s their charm or practicality as extra storage, or maybe their versatility as a resting place for seasonal decor-whichever the case, I simply cannot resist a good chest of drawers. And well, that ‘leisurely stroll’ practically became an all-out jog as I hurried home to grab the truck to haul this little gem home.

After giving it a good sanding I thought I’d give it a dramatic update by painting the body a deep, hunter green (a custom mix I tried myself by combining Home decor chalk paint in and in black and Spanish moss – you can find it at JoAnn Fabrics). I left the top and upper drawers natural. I then finished it off with my favorite lilac-scented furniture wax by The Chippy barn. Ready to see how it turned out?

I put it in our living room and it’s currently catching mail, keys, and of course, a few “winter” (ha!) trees ..Slow and steady over here…no decorating for Christmas until after we have turkey! At least I’ll try.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little blog. Have a fantastic day!

XO

Kate
