Christmas in the Kitchen

There’s just something about red, at Christmas.  Mix it with fresh greenery and you have the perfect recipe for some good old fashioned, nostalgic Christmas décor –  Exactly the feeling I’m going for in our kitchen this year.

I chose to use a pair of woven-checked placemats on top of our sink skirt for a fun, vintage nod and added fresh greenery to the shelves.  A string of twinkling white lights and some old red and white enamelware pots finished off the look.  I also brought in my favorite apple honey butter candle to greet our noses with a cozy warm hug as you walk into the room. So, Grab something yummy to sip and come on in!

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a few more simple ideas on how to add a dash of Christmas to your decor (right behind this half wall).
