Shiplap in the Guest Room

The guest bedroom in our house has a fireplace and cathedral ceilings:

And all I could think about when we bought this place was adding Shiplap above the fireplace.  A fairly simple project that I convinced the Mr. to help me do, right before Christmas because really, why wouldn’t I choose the busiest time of year to tackle a new project?  Makes complete sense to me anyway 😉

Two sheets of thin plywood ($11 each at Home Depot), a finishing gun, and two long pieces of MDF ($5 each for 8ft.) and we were in business folks.  Merry Christmas to me.

I used white paint off the shelf at Home Depot that (not surprisingly if you’ve gotten to know me) I had on hand from other projects. I also used it on the window trim and, ahem, still need to paint some of the baseboards… as you can see. ;-). I freshened up the walls with Benjamin Moore’s Ozark Shadows, and painted the fireplace surround black with Rustoleum High heat paint. So,  for around$50 we put together a whole new look that truly makes a statement when you walk into this room.  Check back in to see the rest. Thanks for stopping by!
