A Container for Cotton

I have a thing for containers.  And, the more unusual and pretty the container, the better.   So I was psyched when my mom thought to put this little gem aside for me:

Since I wasn’t in love with the green paint, I sanded it down and re-stained it.

box1

Then I gave it a coat of Chelsea Grey paint by Benjamin Moore, and lightly sanded it again for a distressed look.  Added a few cotton stems and voila:

Now, if I could just figure out where to display it:

I’m kind of liking it here, looking out the window at the recently planted mums in our window buckets.  More on those later this week. It’s starting to look like fall around here. Thanks for popping by!

  1. Hi Kate! 🙂
I love the container your mom saved for you! I have a thing for boxes too, and bowls, and baskets… 😉
I love how the cotton looks in it and the new grey color!
    Pretty!!
