“Rock Me Mamma”

Well, I’ve learned two things.  First, don’t spray paint in sandals.  Second, don’t spray paint in the wind.  I managed to kill two birds with one stone today, fake a sunburn and spray paint chairs.  Fabulous.  At least the chairs are looking pretty good :-).  Here’s another shot of them before in case you’re just tuning in:

And, here they are now:

A quick sanding and Rustoleum High gloss red spray paint brought unity to these two mismatched rocking chairs.  I made the pillows with white cotton duck cloth and painted on the stripes using painters tape and left over Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron Paint.  The potted plants are a collection of buckets and baskets that I’ve found at various antique stores.   And I think, that’s a wrap for this little DIY project.  Thanks so much for stopping in!

  1. Hi Kate!
I found you through Jones Design Co…her house number tutorial…I came by to see how the numbers looked on your stairs! But I didn’t just stop at that post…I’ve been to quite a few of your posts now and just wanted to tell you that I love your blog and the story of your ‘new’ house!
ps…the numbers on your stairs turned out amazing and the other posts I looked at were equally as amazing! Love the red rocking chairs too!! 🙂
