Master Bedroom Makeover Reveal

Let’s see… last time I checked in, I’d sold my entire bedroom  and was sitting at square one with a teensy tiny budget to design a new one.   I’d decided on a “Bed and Breakfast” theme after stumbling on a really pretty red and white quilt from Christmas tree shops.  It gave me all the cozy, nostalgic feelings and became the perfect jumping-off point.

Then roadside rescues played in my favor.  Driving with my kiddos to CCD one day, a vintage headboard caught my eye.   There leaning against a tree… it read, “free.” It wasn’t until I got it home that I realized it was by Ethan Allen.  Oh yes, this was a GREAT find.   Not even a few days later, an old nightstand was looking for a new home at the top of our street.  Both in need of a little love and quickly brought back to life with a little sanding and a touch of stain.  I checked out our local thrift store and found a gorgeous wicker trunk that would be perfect to double as storage and a night table.  Before I knew it? I had most of the ingredients I’d needed to outfit a master suite.  Next I shopped the house for a few accessories, then threw together a faux fireplace with some scrap pieces of wood and an old shelf.  Yes, this mini makeover was a fun treasure hunt for free, already owned and repurposed, and budget-friendly pieces.  Ready to see?

Nothing is more magical than the twinkling lights reflecting in the window in the evening… If I remember, I’ll try and get a snap of it and share it here… but for now, I’m so thankful to have this little makeover complete in time for Christmas.  Thank you for stopping in today,  I hope I’ve inspired you too to think out of the box and make something old, seem new again.

Merry Christmas,

Kate
