A touch of Spring for the Kitchen and some new chair cushions

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that HM.com is one of my favorite places to find reasonably priced décor.  On my most recent haul, I managed to snag three round, ruffled chair cushions for the kitchen island ($6 each – I mean, how could I resist?) along with the twin duvet covers (see yesterday’s post for those if you missed it.).  They are washable too so when kids spill on them (which they absolutely will, tonight), I’ll just pop them into the wash and won’t even break a sweat.

After the cushions were secured, I got all inspired to brave the attic and dig out some of my faux flowering stems for a hint of spring in here:

And of course Peter Rabbit…who was a DIY a few years back from a few scraps of a pallet and the kids just love him.

Now I just have to decide if it’s time for good ‘ol uncle Buck to hibernate…

…Maybe we’ll let him stay just a wee bit longer.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Check back in for some progress in the guest room.

  1. Hi Kate,
Your kitchen and dining room are beautiful and I love the little touches of Spring and Peter Rabbit is so cute! I love your new H&M ruffle cushions! I have found quite a few deals on their site too, and when they are washable, a steal of a deal and pretty it’s a win/win/win! 🙂
I say put some of those daisy’s on uncle Buck and keep him up there – I love him!
    Happy almost weekend! Hugs, Kimberley

    1. Oh Kimberley thank you so much! You’re thoughtful comments have truly made my day bright. :-). That is a fantastic idea about the daisy’s on Uncle buck! I actually saw a great daisy wreath that I’d love to give a try making… gotta love pinterest!

      XOXO
      Kate

  2. Thank you for your kind comment. I love decorating for seasons and holidays but I hate too much clutter so small touches work for me! Going to add some Easter decorations later today! Thanks again!
