A Red Front Door

I thought it would be fun to give the front door a fresh coat of paint for the Holiday season so off to Ace Hardware I went, three kids in tow, to choose the perfect shade of red. I had to be quick with a decision so I grabbed three choices, did a quick eenie, meanie, miney, Moe and handed the lady behind the counter the lucky winner.  We were back in the car before you could sing jingle all the way.  :-). We ended up with Clark and Kensington’s Berry Rose.

Of course, once the door was painted, I had to add our house numbers.  And then, a bell wreath….

Oh, and a garland.  I strung this one together with clippings from our Arborvitae and Pine trees and tied them together with floral wire.

It was a little tricky getting a good shot of the door without getting a reflection from the storm door… but, I sort of like how the tree branches look here:

And here are a few from the inside, looking out:

The bell wreath was a last minute DIY.  I’d found this adorable rusted bell wreath at Homegoods a month ago and couldn’t leave it behind… but it just needed a little, well, beefing up.

So I grabbed an old fake wreath and tied the two together with floral wire

And that seemed to do the trick!

I love how the bells jingle when we open and close the door.  So festive ;-). Thanks so much for popping by!
